“I wanted them to feel how we’ve felt these last six months.” In an interview with MEE, Thaer Ahmad, a Palestinian-American doctor from Chicago, explains why he walked out on US President Joe Biden during a meeting at the White House on Tuesday. Ahmad attended the meeting to protest US support for Israel’s war on Gaza. The initial plan was for the event to be held as an Iftar, but it was later changed to a meeting with community leaders, Biden, and top US officials.
