Silvana Bazzoni is Cecilia Bartoli's mother and her only voice teacher. Bazzoni was a soprano and appeared as Violetta in a recording of excerpts from Verdi's “La Traviata“ (in the mid-1960s, I think). The disc is quite hard to find and doesn't even appear in most Traviata discographies. I found this version issued in Japan! Here she sings an abridged “Sempre Libera“ with Franco Capuana conducting the Rome Opera House Orchestra, and tenor Alvinio Misciano as Alfredo.
