This is a video for: “The Hualapai War“, (.: The Walapai War) that occured between 1865 and 1870, between the Hualapai People and the United States, in Arizona Territory. There are also videos in this channel for over 1100 North, South & Central American Tribes & First Nations, Residential Schools, Chiefs, Elders, Historical Events, Indigenous Concerns, Quotes, Environmental Youth Activists.. and much more. ------------------------------------------------ “The Hualapai War“, (.: “The Walapai War“), was an armed conflict, that was fought from 1865 to 1870, between the Hualapai People and the United States, in Arizona Territory. Yavapai warriors also participated, on the side of the Hualapai and Mohave scouts were employed by the United States Army. Following the murder of the prominent Yavapai leader Chief (Tokumhet) Anasa, along with two of his sons, in April 1865, by a man named Hundertinark & other drunken white settlers, in the area of Camp Willow Grove, the warriors began raiding American settlements, which provoked a response by the United States Army forces, who were stationed in the area. Conflicts between the Hualapai people and Euro-American settlers began, with encroachment of Indigenous lands. In 1857, Edward Fitzgerald Beale carved a road through Hualapai territory, leading to Needles, California and in 1863, gold was discovered in the Prescott Valley. When the Anglo-Americans started building the Santa Fe Railroad for mining purposes, they “demanded“ that the Hualapai “vacate their homes“. At the time of his mureder, Chief (Tokumhet) Anasa, was on a “goodwill mission“,to negotiate with the Anglo-Americans, in the area of Camp Willow Grove, but, the three, blatant murders led the Yavapai to wage war and “The Hualapai War“ began. It should be “acknowledged“ and “honoured“, that “at least one-third of the Hualapai population were killed during “The Hualapai War“, between 1865 and 1870“. ------------------------------------------------ ***** I claim no ownership of any of the clips, video and music expressed in this video and employ my borrowing of them, with much respect and thanks.
