The beloved Advent hymn tune Wachet auf is presented in the right hand part in this meditation which alternates with an enchanting refrain between the phrases of the hymn. Colourful harmony is heard throughout this very accessible piece. It will be very effective in liturgy and recital programs whenever contemplative music is desired.
