I’m fascinated by the role of music in video games. When I was in high school, I arranged the music from games I loved, and begged my strings class to play my scores. Sometimes, I was successful. Transcribing and arranging music from video games helped me develop the skills I now use every day of my life. When I was a kid, my friends and I were all into the Legend of Zelda series. To be honest, I’d be lying if I were to say I’ve outgrown it. Around the time when I became interested in flamenco music, I realized that this particular Zelda theme was, more or less, rumba flamenca. I had intended to record my own version once I had the proper equipment, and, well, here we are … many years later. I wasn’t sure what to make for the video, because I really couldn’t picture filming myself running around with
