CONGER THE MOVIE - Mike Millman, Liam Dale and guests

THIS is the orginal “Conger; The Movie“ I made about 30 years ago now. The first of the Conger series with sea angling presenter Mike Millman. I was joined on this trip by Carp specialist Andy Little, comedian Steve Womack and my buddy Roger Herity who went on to work the rest of the conger series with me. Skipper was the legendary Tony Allen (RIP) aboard Electric Blue, his very hi-tech charter boat out of Plymouth. Skippers used to say, “If you get yourself a new £5,000 sounder, Tony will go get a £10,000 one“. It paid off though with a stunning craft. He was very good at anchoring of wrecks. In this film we headed over the horizon, bumping into Bill Warner out at sea when records were being broken by The Mistress. A good old fashioned fishing movie. Early days for me.
