Natural history museums have entered a new stage of scientific discovery and accessibility with the completion of openVertebrate (oVert). This five-year collaborative project among 18 institutions launched in 2017 with a single goal: take CT scans of as many vertebrate specimens as possible and using them to create digital, 3D models for everyone to access online.
