Kenton, Middlesex. Brief opening sequence shows a woman and man in 18th century costume and elaborate wigs; they sit before a dressing table, talk and peer at each other's wigs. We then see a young girl waking up and getting out of bed; putting on her negligee, she sits before a dressing table mirror and ruffles her medium length blonde hair. C/U of her face blurs as we go into a dream sequence where the girl has her idea of perfect hair; she sits at a typewriter, wearing a long, straight, blonde wig and flicks the 'hair' over her shoulder to answer the telephone. She thinks again, and we see her in a bikini, reclining on a sun-lounger and wearing a shorter, back-combed blonde wig and alice band; she sips a drink.
