Moderat actually formed in the early '00s, but it wasn't until 2009 that they released their debut album, Moderat, through a combination of “different opinions on how they should work“ and commitments to their individual projects - Modeselektor, of course, also run two record labels, while Apparat averages an album every couple of years.
