The ambassador characterized the situation in Serbia as “fragile“. “They will continue. Although it [the situation] is dangerous, it is under control. Again, the calculation is that as a result of wider protests it will be possible to get the opposition a chair in the Belgrade administration, its executive bodies. This is essential, because through Belgrade it is possible to have a very strong influence on the republican authorities,“ said Botsan-Kharchenko. At the same time, the ambassador is sure that the current events in Serbia are the result of manipulation of Western countries. According to him, the West was instigating the protests back in 2018-2020, and now it has simply raised the stakes. “There is such information, there is nothing surprising in it. The point is that the West has such experience, there are many concrete examples. First of all, the Ukrainian Euromaidan. Of course, Westerners are involved in this and they organize it. The protesters are being fed and nourished - both literally and figuratively. Plus - organization, Western statements, contacts with oppositionists, encouraging them to protest on the eve of the elections.
