* (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) * Fullerton, California — The Fullerton Police Department released video from a May shooting by officers that left a 34-year-old Hector Hernandez dead. According to the Fullerton Police Department, officers were called out for a family disturbance in the 3600 block of West Avenue on May 27 at approximately 10 p.m. after a 15-year-old reported that his step-father was intoxicated and threatening family members with a knife. Ferrell was the first to arrive on the scene, along with his K9 partner, Rotar. Three minutes later, Hernandez walked out of his front door. He is seen with his arms up as police approach him with guns drawn. He did not appear to be holding a weapon. Officers deployed a K9 unit. District Attorney’s officials said Hernandez also made a stabbing motion at Ferrell before plunging a blade into the animal’s shoulder.
