Well-formed rhythms (aka MOS) contain two beat sizes arranged to make the rhythm as even as possible. Each such rhythm has a higher-level rhythm that splits the original beats into two new sizes. This allows for a complex nested hierarchy of rhythms to be created. Well-formed rhythms are a superset of Euclidean rhythms. For example, they also include rhythms with no regular pulse.
