This recipe of a rose-infused wine comes to us from the 4th century CE, from a medical doctor called Oreibasios, who was the physician of the Roman-Byzantine emperor Julian the Apostate. His various recipes of infused wines that he published in his Medical Collections are destined to balance and strengthen the body.
