Academic Choir “Obilic“ was founded in 1884 at Belgrade University under the name “The Academic Singing Society 'Obilic'.“ Since 1981 the choir has been directed and conducted by Prof. Darinka Matic the greatest successes of the choir are eight three-month tours in the USA and Canada, as well as the tours in most European countries including Sweden, Finland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Russia, Great Britain, France, Spain, to mention a few. The choir performed in some of the world most famous concert halls, such as Carnegie Hall in New York, Nice Opera House, Stockholm Konserthuset, Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow, Berlin Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Constitution Hall in Washington, DC, Herodion Theatre in Athens, and Musikverein in Vienna. “Obilic“ collaborated with famous orchestras in Yugoslavia, as well as with Geneva Symphony Orchestra, Nice Philharmonic, Santa Cecilia Orchestra in Rome, Russian National Orchestra, Moscow Chamber Orchest
