Joan Soriano and I (Adam Taub) visited Haitian composer Felix Cumbe in February of 2007. We were looking for a song for Joan’s new album (El Duque de la Bachata). When we arrived, Cumbe broke out with La Mamandela - a beautifully poetic song which he was in the midst of the composing. With Cumbe’s blessing, Joan recorded the song several months later. This video is from the February, 2007 meeting. Benjamin de Menil iASO Records
