People are afraid to leave their homes and send their children to school. A high alert regime has been declared in the regional capital Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky today, and forced shooting is underway. Almost 500 reports of bears in populated areas is a record for Kamchatka for the autumn season. Bears trample and eat crops, tear dogs apart, and go hunting in the city. In the last week alone, bears have been seen in several areas of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. More than two hundred individuals had to be shot because they came to populated areas and were not going to leave. Now you can meet a bear anywhere: it does not matter whether you are in an industrial zone, near farmland, or in the city center. Dangerous predators come out both day and night, which frightens local residents even more. Rescue
