) S have/has been V_ing O -) S have/has not been V_ing O ?) Have/Has S been V_ing O? We need present perfect continuous for the following reasons: 1. To talk about DURATION of an activity that began in the past but even now it continues to happen: I have been studying English for two years. I have been living in Rostov for half a year. 2. To answer the QUESTION how have we spent the time? I have been doing my homework since you left the house. 3. To EXPLAIN what we were doing which made us have the side effects: I have been running to you hence I am short of breath and I am sweating like a horse. I have been washing my car thus my clothes are wet. 4. To correct other people’s opinion about how you have spent time: Daniel hasn’t been playing Dota 2 for two hours but three hours. I have not been watching football for two years but for five years. We never use Passive voice for PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS!
