The Örgryte Baroque meantone organ replica once again, this time around in a compositional genre that can be said almost to define most large-scale 17th century North German chorale writing for the big three- and four-manual Hanseatic machines - the chorale fantasia. The mother-of-all-fantasias type composition heard here explores the infinitely rich and colorful possibilities of these multi-manual instruments such as echoes, solo stops suggestive of subtle distinctions of affect of the different lines of the portrayed chorale “Jesus Christus, unser Heiland, der von uns den Gotteszorne wand“.
