After two excellent EP releases unleashed in 2023, Iron Firmament opens the new year with its debut full-length release, and what a triumphant start it is. A more mature and exploratory piece of work, Iron Firmament's debut does an absolutely stellar work in upholding the old spirit of 90s Black Metal, its pitch darkness and irreverent might, gathering inspiration from projects like Judas Iscariot, and German Black Metal, creating a powerfull call to spiritual war and enlightenment to force that is also not so different than Taurus's works under Fellwinter or Arbor. This belligerent spirit seeks inspiration from the highness of the stars and the wisdom of the earth through plaintive and dreamy passages characterized by medieval folk and ethereal ambiance that is also definitely reminiscing of old school Dungeon Synth but also some Cascadian Black Metal projects, while some riffs sometimes have a more swirling, serpentine, melodic approach which also brings to mind Kestrel or Grizelda. Absolutely fantastic release, put out on digital by the band and tape and digital via Wergild.
