Black Friday is probably going to give you some great deals. Even if you’re watching this video after that, there will still be many good deals. However, no matter the price, it is important to choose a device that is reliable and accurate. In this video I will use actual data and testing to show you my top recommendations, and which devices I would pick up myself. We will focus on heart rate, GPS, sleep and health tracking, which will give you a full picture and allow you to select the best device possible, at the best possible price. Be aware that I’ve rejected most companies that offered very lucrative affiliate links because I didn’t think their products were good enough. However, there were three that I did accept. I will mention them in this video, in addition to many other devices, because I believe all these products are actually good and I use them myself daily. I wanted to be transparent. The good thing is that you will also get an extra discount if you use those links. I’ve split this video into several parts that cover the topics: heart rate, GPS, sleep, health, all-round top performers, and honorable mentions, and I give recommendations for each. Let’s start with heart rate tracking, specifically heart rate tracking during sports. This is very hard for many smartwatches, because they have to measure a very weak signal. Basically a smartwatch or smartband tries to measure changes in blood flow using a flashing green light shining on your wrist. And it is doing that while you are moving a lot. This creates a ton of noise in the signal, which means it is looking for a tiny blood flow signal in a sea of noise. Still, some devices manage to do this quite well.
