We’ve all heard it - “If you’re not a socialist before you’re twenty-five, you have no heart; if you are a socialist after twenty-five, you have no head.” This is the most prevalent form in which these statements take shape and reflect the deep lack of understanding and engagement with actual political matter and theory, ironically reducing politics to impulsive cheerleading - where your sacred opinion on surface-levels cultural non-issues conveniently labels you a conservative or a liberal - with nothing acceptable in between or beyond. Nonetheless, this video-essay will offer a concrete answer to the accusation that Socialism is Utopian - in a systematic, pragmatic manner.
