My buddy from @toysontap5189 gave me his Astron figure to paint. Before I could paint Astron, I needed to clean the FDM print. I haven't really done this before so I thought this would be a great test to see if it's easier to clean up with UV resin or wood filler. My experiment comparing UV resin and wood filler for FDM print cleanup was quite the learning experience, even if both methods had their pros and cons. While I can't tell you definitively which is “better“ since it depends on personal preference and the project, I can share some takeaways based on what I experienced: Similarities: Both methods require significant sanding, so get ready for some elbow grease! Both can achieve a smooth finish with enough effort. Differences: UV resin: Can be trickier to work with due to its quick curing time and needing a UV light. May generate fumes and require additional safety precautions. Can create extremely smooth finishes with proper curing
