The flip side of Haley’s “Don’t Knock The Rock” was this update of Louis Jordan’s huge 1946 R&B hit (18 weeks at #1): Some commonly-available reissues and YouTube posts of the Haley title utilize only the original studio master track which preceded the addition of vocal group overdubs included on the released 45 and 78 singles. Also note that the rather prominent audio distortion that you hear (in comparison to the ‘clean’ undubbed version) is not due to vinyl groove wear but was a curious byproduct of Decca’s 45/78 master recording which is also discernible on CD reissues of that overdubbed single-release version.
