In January 1996 Novacats, a TICA club, held a Bengal Cat congress & seminar judged by Connie Webb and Leslie Lyons. The gathering featured some of the best examples of the still new breed. Less than five years as a championship breed some exciting examples of the Bengal Cat are exhibited. Several cats present here went to contribute significantly to the Bengal Cat breed. The Congress and Seminar were organized by Anthony Hutchinson and were a precursor to On Safari.
