Even though you may not be familiar with them, magnetrons are at the heart of many of the manufacturing processes that make the modern world what it is. They let you coat anything in either a layer of metal or ceramic, so they find heavy use in the semiconductor manufacturing industry and many others. From mirrors, to filters, to microchips and neural lace, these machines capabilities are truly amazing. I've been trying to build such a machine for years, so I'm excited to share my build of a functional magnetron that can successfully coat glass in a perfect copper mirror or metal oxide coating.
