This tutorial shows how to calculate and create a correct 3d model of a spiral bevel gear. The GearEngineer software is able to calculate and generate highly accurate 3D geometry of complex gears. This geometry provides the basis to manufacture gears in conjunction with multi-axis machining centers (5-axis milling). The tooth form calculation is analog to the customary production on traditional bevel gear generators. The tooth depth profile corresponds to an Octoid. Additionally, the software includes common calculation methods (DIN, ISO) for the calculation of load capacity. It also contains a tooth contact analysis (TCA).
