This 2026 Mazda MX-5 Miata EV render designed exclusively for HotCars by digital artist Timothy Adry Emmanuel gives us a peek at the Miata’s electric future. The eventual electrification of some of our favorite sports cars in likely going to be inevitable, even if the Tesla Roadster has so far been the only somewhat viable solution to a convertible EV. There's no doubt that the industry is moving in this direction. Mazda confirmed via Which Car that the upcoming Miata will have some sort of electric powertrain (likely a hybrid). So, if the production version of the electric Miata roadster ends up looking like this concept, the Miata could continue its tradition of being the answer to nearly everything.
