Dharavi is located in the center of Megacity Mumbai, India. Dharavi, home to over one million people, is known as one of the largest slums in the world. On the other hand, when you think of a slum, you generally think of it as a place where poor people live and where it is dangerous, but the situation here in Dharavi is completely different. This is not just a slum, but a huge ecosystem where many people work and recycle much of the waste collected from Megacity - Mumbai. In addition to waste recycling, many other industries such as apparel, leather, and ceramics also support people's lives. The people who work here are hardworking and spend their days with a smile on their face. This slum has become one of Mumbai's tourist attractions, and is also a spot that many tourists visit every year. I currently live in India and have visited Dharavi several times to shoot the people there. I was nervous at first, but the kind people who treated me comforted me, and after visiting several times, it has become one of my favorite places in Mumbai.
