The classical dances of India are Mohiniattam & Kathakali (Kerala), Bharathanatyam (Tamil Nadu). Kathak (Uthar Pradesh), Odissi (Orissa), Kuchipudi (Andrapradesh), Manipuri(Manipur) and Sathriya (Assam). They all have their own identity but they have common features too. Each one has its own basics and style but all of them are in Harmony in aspects like the Abhinaya- the expression, the Laya- the rhythm and the Raga- the melody, though the names may differ in the North and the South. Here we bring to you the Harmony in the SIX forms of Indian classical dances. The Harmony in the Thillana of Mohiniattam, Kuchipudi and Bharathanatyam or the Tharana or the Thanum of Kathak, Odissi and Manipuri in Chathurashra Thaala.
