Karpatka Recipe (Poland's Famous Cake) Ingredients: - 100 g butter - 1 teaspoon granulated sugar - A pinch of salt - 140 g flour (1 cup 1 tablespoon) - 200 ml water (1 cup) - 4 medium eggs (use 3 if they are large) For the Cream: - 5 tablespoons sugar - 2.5 tablespoons corn starch - 1 egg yolk - 2.5 cups milk - 1 packet vanilla - 150 g butter Cream Preparation:** Put all the cream ingredients, except the butter, into a saucepan and cook until thickened. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate to cool. Whip the butter in a deep bowl, gradually adding the cream while continuing to whip. Your cream is ready; store it in the refrigerator. **For the Dough:** 1. Put the water, butter, salt, sugar, and vanilla in a pot and bring to a boil. 2. Add the flour to the boiling water, stirring constantly. 3. Once it forms a dough, continue stirring on the stove for about 2-3 more minutes, then let the dough cool. 4. When cool, add the eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition. 5. Divide the dough into two equal parts and place them in two separate molds, making wave-like patterns. 6. Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C (347°F) for 35 minutes (do not open the oven door during baking). 7. Once the dough is ready, spread the cream between the two layers, filling all gaps. You can also add strawberries or raspberries if desired, they complement the cake well. 8. After letting it sit in the fridge for a few hours, dust with powdered sugar, and your cake is ready to serve. Enjoy! #karpatka #cake
