Major Eruption on the Far Side of the Sun - Geomagnetic Storm Watch - September 6. 2023.

On September 5, Sun-monitoring spacecraft recorded a huge amount of material blasting away from the far side of the Sun from a coronal mass ejection (CME). A fast CME was spotted in SOHO coronagraph imagery beginning at approximately 05/14:00 UTC. However, analysis of this CME indicates a farside origin, likely from old AR 3413.
