Listen To After Dark 4 : “Epicurus explicitly warned against overindulgence because it often leads to pain. For instance, Epicurus warned against pursuing love too ardently. He defended friendships as ramparts for pleasure & denied them any inherent worth. He also believed that death was not to be feared. When a man dies, he does not feel the pain of death because he no longer is & he therefore feels nothing. As Epicurus famously said, “Death is nothing to us.“ When we exist, death does not, & when death exists, we do not. All sensation & consciousness ends with death & therefor,e in death, there is neither pleasure nor pain. The fear of death arises from the belief that in death there is awareness.“ Love Object Until we are there is no death When there is death There are no us Try to relax All is useless Concentrate on the pleasure Nothing else matters No one is connected They lied to us
