Solvejgs Lied (Solveig's Song) Nazrin Rashidova, violin & Daniel Grimwood, piano Grieg’s relationship with the violin remained important all his life. It was the Norwegian violinist, Ole Bull, who encouraged the young composer to study in Leipzig, while the folk-inspired melodies of the Hardanger fiddle echo throughout much of his later music. The virtuoso violinist and composer Émile Sauret studied in Leipzig and made several arrangements for violin of works by Grieg.
