Supermax was the brainchild of Austrian bass player Kurt Hauenstein who defined his own unique mix of soul, funk, rock and disco. Recorded between June and October 1976, the LP hit the record stores in January 1977 with the single Don't Stop The Music, followed by the self-titled Supermax in May (which spells out the name much in the same manner that Frank Farian spelled B-U-M-P on Boney M.'s debut single). Recorded at Europasound Studios, Frankfurt, Germany, where Boney M. also recorded their albums in the 70s, it features several well-known names such as Hartmut Pfannmüller and Fred Schreier as the sound engineers, Johan Daansen on guitars, and Christian Kolonovits on piano. The female vocalists are Cynthia Arrich and Teples Reynolds. Kurt Hauenstein passed away in January 2011, 61 years old. 00:00 Dance Dance Dance 03:42 Push Push (Sexy Chocolate Girl) 06:45 Watch Out, South Africa, Here We Come 10:38 Don't Stop The Music 16:39 Supermax 20:34 Nobody Knows 24:10 Reggae On, Baby 28:01 I Am What I Am 30:23 Dance Dance Dance (Part II) 33:44 Don't Stop The Music (Long Version)
