Commissioned by Al-Bustan Seeds of Culture, composer KINAN ABOU-AFACH selected Sufi poetry that speaks of eternal/divine love and longing and set it to new music. The 55-minute composition is a continuous suite with interconnected poems and movements. On April 16, 2016, Al-Bustan premiered this new work, “Nur: One Breath, One Soul,“ featuring singer DALAL ABU AMNEH with AL-BUSTAN TAKHT ENSEMBLE: Hanna Khoury - Music Director/violin, Hicham Chami - qanun, Kinan Abou-afach - cello, and Hafez Kotain - percussion, and Sufi dancer Ibrahim Miari.
