Guild's new Guild X175 Manhattan special is a full hollowbody archtop electric guitar with a 17“ wide laminated maple body with a laminated spruce top and a three-piece mahogany/maple/mahognay neck with a 24 3/4“ scale on an ebony fingerboard. It sports twin DeArmond Dynasonic pickups, twin volume and tone controls, a Guild Tune-a-matic bridge on an ebony base, and a Guild Bigsby tailpiece. The X175 special has a satin polyurthane malibu blue finish, and comes with a quality TKL case. Guild's X175 has been around in various incarnations since about 1953. The DeArmond Dynasonic pickups are very twangy, though powerful and meaty single coils that excel with clean and semi-driven sounds – twang, spank, shimmer, jangle and note separation. From Duane Eddy to Johnny Marr, they're a classic sound you'll love. For this demo video, the guitar was plugged into a Headstrong Lil' King S combo, and a Surfy Industries Surfybear Compact Reverb, MXR Clone Looper, Greer burning Goat and Guyatone effects were used.
