Regent's Park, London. Various shots of participants preparing for a competition walk. The competitors are all blind war veterans from St Dunstan's. M/S of the group of competitors before the start of the race; pan to actor Wilfred Pickles talking to an official. Pickles starts the race and the men start walking. Each blind walker is accompanied by a member of a prominent London walking club; some are attached by a tape around the arm, but most just go by the sound of their escort's footsteps.
