A film about producing a cabaret show at the Grafton Galleries. The Producer stands and watches a long line of chorus girls performing high kicks. They are in their day wear rather than costumes so this is either a rehearsal or an audition. A musical scene is rehearsed. Various members of the cast sing whilst holding the words of the song. The Producer stands at the front and conducts. C/U of one of the leading ladies singing. Then of one of the leading men - looking rather cross eyed and wearing top hat and tails. A younger woman sings in C/U. M/S of the band. Producer throws down his hat and carries on conducting the group. Opening night. Couples move around the dance floor, dissolve into two strangely dressed women presumably announcing that the cabaret will begin. Various snippets are shown - sensual dancing by a woman with a large shawl, chorus girls dressed as chocolate boxes dance in a circle and two dancers perform a rough and tumble dance routine involving throws and cartwheels.
