What Were We Hiding Music Video Filmed by Dustin Silva and Jason Ardiles Edited by Dustin Silva Actress - Ellen B. What Were We Hiding is a modern indie folk ballad with existential and cathartic undertones. It is about the loneliness that drives addiction and the connection that can remedy the predicament. It features the celestial voice of Holly Sheehy in duet with Dustin Silva. Music Personel Lyrics and Music by Dustin Silva Dustin Silva- Vocals/Acoustic Guitar/ Piano Holly Sheehy - Vocals Jason Ardiles - Nylon Guitar/Bass Elizabeth Goodfellow - drums/percussion Arranged and Produced by Jason Ardiles Mixed by Seth Paris Mastered by Nacho De La Riega As a Guitarist and Singer-Songwriter, Dustin Silva is a rare combination of technical virtuosity and raw, emotional intensity. His songs have been described as a sonic cross between Elliott Smith, Jeff Buckley, Nick Drake and Radiohead. Heavy themes make up the songs. His unique perspective is informed by a chronic struggle with illness (diabetes, depression, OCD) and his mothers 20 year struggle with Multiple Sclerosis. His music is both cathartic and personal with lyrics that use evocative imagery to interrogate the nature of suffering and the journey back into health. His long anticipated, debut solo EP was fully released in Sept, 2023. He has released 2 full band singles, Dec/Jan 2024. Both feature the beautiful harmonies of Holly Sheehy and the brilliant drumming of Elizabeth Goodfellow, drummer for Iron & Wine, boygenius and Calexico. Dustin lives in Portland, OR.
