Speaker: Stefan Golas The open-source philosophy has enabled massive advances in software and information technology, but adoption in automation has been limited. By adopting open-source practices, automation hardware companies can create a global ecosystem of developers who have maximum flexibility to create new software for controlling their devices. An open-source developer ecosystem could have tremendous capacity to iterate quickly on building new tools, and may help usher in a new generation of automation software.
