A species of Aviculariinae tarantula, subfamily of spiders in the family Theraphosidae and is the type species of the genus Typhochlaena. Its name changed many times and in the end changed back to Typhochlaena seladonia. Its unique as an arboreal spider, specifically they live in trees and they constructs trapdoors in the bark that act as their hiding place and to ambush wandering critters around it, the spiders jumps out and claims its prize.
