The brief for the Wall Street Journal shoot was to create a series of images discussing the use of MDMA (Ecstasy) as a prescribed medication for therapy patients. I shot four different images with four very different lighting set ups. The main image was a wide shot of two models on and in front of a sofa, with giant flowers placed to look as if they were growing round the models. There was a large lighting setup for this with the broncolor Fresnel as my key light, Softboxes to fill, and standard reflector heads with colour gels to accent the light on some of the flower heads. I chose colours for the gels that would contrast with the colour of the flower. This would make the colours pop, and emphasise the drug induced state I was trying to evoke. Read more on our BLOG
