Here's Suzanne Farrell and Peter Martins in their allegro section from Balanchine's CHACONNE to music by Gluck. George Balanchine was noted for the speed of some of his choreography, so here is a perfect example. He uses here only purely classical steps, but puts them together in new and novel ways; which also takes the cleanest techniques to pull off. Much like August Bournonville, the great French choreographer who defined the Danish school and style, Balanchine broadens the limits of classical doesn't distort it.
