Track: Eauki & AUDIOMiLF - Nothing 2 Lose Music Provided by Magic Records Listen To The Original: Free Download: Elite Prospects: Tim Stützle (born 15 January 2002) is a German hockey player playing for Adler Mannheim in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). A centre, who also plays on the wing, he is regarded as one of the top prospects in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. Stützle played junior hockey for the Krefelder EV 1981. He was the top scorer on his team for the 2015–16 season. In the 2017–18 season, Stützle transferred to Jungadler Mannheim, scoring 18 goals and 29 assists. Despite originally committing to play hockey at the University of New Hampshire, and being selected by the Seattle Thunderbirds in the 2019 CHL Import Draft, Stützle opted to remain in Germany, and signed a three-year contract with Adler Mannheim in June 2019. He made his professional debut at the age of 17 in the Champions Hockey League opening round on 30 August 2019 against the Vienna Capitals. Fantasy Summary An average-sized offensive forward with excellent speed and quickness. A great playmaker who also knows how to finish his chances. A natural center but has been frequently used at wing. High offensive upside but doesn’t provide much help in peripheral stats. Observations June 2020 – Stutzle had a major decision to make in the summer of 2019. His original plan was to come to the USHL for a season before transition to the University of New Hampshire. His fall back option was to land with Everett of the WHL. Instead, the speed-driven forward decided to remain at home and become one of the top teenagers ever in the German men’s league. It appears to have been the right choice. His play in the DEL as a winger was terrific for his age. Sure, that league is steps below other established European pro leagues, but he was still playing with and against men. His showing at the WJC displayed his potential against his peer group – and it remains large. Stutzle projects more as a winger than a pivot at the next level, using his speed and hands to blow wide. Continual work on decision-making and fighting into the middle of the ice are needed. He has another decision this summer too. Whether to cross the pond for the WHL, AHL, or NHL. Or, to stay in Europe for another season. Cam Robinson October 2019 – Stützle is a projected top ten pick for the 2020 NHL Entry Draft and the next high-profile prospect to come out of Germany. At age 16, Stützle was an unstoppable force in the top junior league in the country. He put up 23 goals and 55 points in 21 regular season games and added another 11 points in five playoff games. At age 17, Stützle is playing against men in DEL which is the top level in Germany. He has had a great start to his rookie season with Adler Mannheim; he has been playing a top-six role with significant power play time, and he has put up eight points in nine games. Stützle is a natural center but he has been used at wing in the DEL – a common occurrence for young players in professional leagues. In late December, Stützle is expected to play a major role for Germany at the World Juniors. Stützle is an excellent skater who combines high-end speed with incredible quickness. He also has quick hands which make him dangerous in one-on-one situations. He makes sharp and accurate passes, and although known as a pass-first player, he also owns a dangerous wrist shot. On top of all that, Stützle is a very quick thinker which allows him to process plays at top speed and even when he is pressured. Stützle is known as an offensive forward but he has shown significant improvement in his play without the puck and isn’t a defensive liability. He is hungry for loose pucks and has shown great effort in puck-battles when he’s trying to steal the puck. Stützle has a pretty good understanding of his defensive responsibilities and he doesn’t cheat from those. Jokke Nevalainen
