#humantrafficking On September 30, two kingpins of an international human trafficking racket were arrested from Goa from a year-long hunt. Aziza Tanrykulyyeva, 36, from Turkmenistan and Sherget, 25, from Afghanistan operated from the national capital and were wanted in multiple cases of human trafficking. They had absconded after a video of Aziza brutally beating one of the trafficked women was widely circulated on social media last year. Newslaundry traced the woman – an Uzbekistan national, and spoke to about the tragedy that befell her in India. The woman says Aziza called her to India in January 2020 on the pretext of a job as a babysitter, and subsequently forced her into prostitution.
