Fascists patrol streets in Lyon

Fascists patrolled streets in Lyon last night amid ongoing protests in the aftermath of the racist police killing of 17-year-old Nahel Merzouk. Footage showed dozens of hooded men taking to the streets chanting slogans such as “France for the French.“ France's extreme right-wing frontwoman, Marine Le Pen, called the suburban population “vermin“ and “bandits“ in a video message. In her own words, she and the police are at war, apparently against part of their own population. Several studies have shown that over 50% of French police officers are Le Pen voters. Meanwhile, €850,000 has been raised for the unnamed police officer who shot the teenager during a traffic stop in the Parisian suburb of Nanterre last week.
