Sarabande / Bourree . Cellos: Ella Jamieson & Georg Mertens This arrangement is part of the collection “Georg's Little Music Library“, available at also available at Sheet Music Plus. For the arrangement for 2 cellos I decided I have to change the original lute edition, which has a very sparse bass;. However when Bach - as well as Corelli, Handel, Vivaldi - wrote very slow melodies they often chose a more lively accompaniment, which gives a regular beat (e.g Bach Air D major). I chose this style, different to the original, keeping the harmonies but fitting the Duo style. The Bourree is literally transcribed, no need to change one note.
