Here’s how I glaze my larger jars, from dipping the outsides, covering the insides and finally fettling the whole vessel clean, which is usually a task done a number of days later once all the moisture has left the pot. Just after they’ve been dunked the surface is quite tacky and any attempt to clean off stray drips or to fill the tong marks would likely result in a whole swarth of glaze peeling away as I try to refine it. So, instead, I let the glazed pot sit up high on a shelf somewhere or next to the hot kiln to dry out. As it does the surface changes from a deep, dark red to a light pink and its only thereafter that I start cleaning up any messy drips and sponging clean the base of the pot and the underside of the lid. It’s slow, steady work, but the pots will look all the better for it, I hope. #glaze #vase #beforeandafter #handmade #asmr #satisfying #waxing #pottery #potteryvideos
