Signal error blamed for freak train derailment in India According to RN Singh, General Manager of Southern Railways, a “mismatch between signal and route” caused a passenger train to derail in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruvallur district on Saturday. The Mysuru-Darbhanga Bagmati Express, travelling at 75 km per hour, was mistakenly switched to a closed section of track where a stationary goods train was parked, leading to the collision. While the exact cause is still under investigation, Singh noted that the signal was set for the main line, but the track inexplicably switched the train to the closed loop. #India - Boost Source: RT News
