The Lendbreen mountain pass route between Skjåk and Netoseter was rediscovered by archaeologists in 2011. Artefacts dating as far back as 300 AD have been found in the melting ice patch. From the 12th-13th centuries AD the traffic through the pass declined and knowledge of the route fell into oblivion.
